What was the outcome in the last meeting? New Orleans Saints 48-41 Arizona Cardinals

  • Arizona made it three wins in a row as they proved too good for New York Giants with back-up RB Chase Edmonds making the most of his chance in the team by scoring three TDs to lead his side to the victory.
  • RB David Johnson continues to nurse an ankle injury and that has seen the Cardinals scour FA to add some depth to the position with veterans Alfred Morris and Zach Zenner added to their roster.
  • Edmonds will take up the lead role if Johnson cannot suit up this week and he could be joined in the team by WR Christian Kirk who practised in a limited capacity on Wednesday as he bids to overcome his troublesome ankle injury.

  • New Orleans continued to defy the odds when they produced another superb performance to improve to 6-1 as they defeated Chicago.
  • Saints QB Drew Brees returned to practice as expected at the start of the week but could only do so in a limited capacity as he continues his recovery from the hand injury that forced him to have surgery after the Week 2 game with Los Angeles Rams, but he will be pushing for inclusion.
  • RB Alvin Kamara and TE Jared Cook will also be hoping to return to the field last week after injury forced them to sit out in Week 7 while the Saints will also monitor CB Eli Apple who picked up a knee injury late on in the win over the Bears.

New Orleans look the real deal and are only going to get better when QB Drew Brees returns. Star RB Alvin Kamara also missed the win over the Bears and that is a scary prospect for Arizona if that pair are back in the team this week with the Saints able to claim a comfortable win in the Superdome. Even if they are out, the Saints should be too strong for the Cardinals, with their more than adequate back-ups Teddy Bridgewater and Latavius Murray leading the way.
