Perth Glory suffered an embarrassing defeat to bottom-of-the-table Wellington Phoenix last weekend and life will get no easier this weekend when they play host to Melbourne City. This visiting City side also lost last weekend as they were the latest in a long line of sides to have lost to Sydney FC this season. Both teams will be looking to bounce back from respective defeats and the Melbourne based outfit will be the favourites in which to do so.
One of the all time memorable A-League matches took place at the nib Stadium back in April 2017 as Perth Glory and Melbourne City played out a game that had no fewer than nine goals in it. It was the home side that would edge proceedings by five goals to four in what was certainly a good advertisement for attacking Australian football, although the opposite could be said from a defensive point of view.
