THE TEAM NEWS

WARRINGTON WOLVES

Head Coach: Steve Price

Squad: Akauola, Atkins, Austin, Charnley, D. Clark, J. Clark, Cooper, Goodwin, Hill, Hughes, Lineham, Livett, Mamo, Murdoch-Masila, Patton, Philbin, Ratchford, Tasi, Walker

Unavailable: Kevin Brown, Ben Currie, Ben Westwood, Toby King

  • Warrington got their campaign off to a perfect start as they proved far too good for Leeds in their season opener as they were 26-6 winners with the Wolves only conceding late on after a solid defensive effort to back up their attacking prowess.

  • The Wolves will be without both Ben Westwood and Toby King for the visit of Hull KR after the pair picked up bans from the Leeds game and are replaced in the 19-man squad by Harvey Livett and Sitaleki Akauola.

  • Lama Tasi and Jake Mamo will also be hoping to force their way into Steve Price’s thoughts after they were the two unlucky players not selected from the 19 this week but it’s Tasi and Livett who appear to be favourites to be named in the 17.

HULL KR

Head Coach: Tim Sheens

Squad: Addy, Atkin, Crooks, Dagger, Drinkwater, Garbutt, Greenwood, Hall, Hauraki, Keinhorst, Lannon, Lawler, Lee, Linnett, Masoe, McGuire, Mulhern, Tomkins, Vaivai

Unavailable: Adam Quinlan, Shaun Lunt, Lee Jewitt, Nick Scruton, Ryan Shaw

  • Hull KR left it extremely late to secure the win against local rivals Hull FC in Round 1 as they scored with just six seconds left to snatch victory and get their season off to the best possible start.

  • Rovers could hand a debut to prop Ryan Lannon after he was included in the 19-man squad having missed out last week with Ryan Shaw the man to drop out after he didn’t feature in the derby last week through injury.

  • Hull KR head coach Tim Sheens could opt for the same 17 as last week to reward them for their gutsy display but any changes he does decide to make will be minimal with none of the 17 from the previous game reporting any injuries.

THE PREDICTION

Warrington highlighted their title credentials at this early stage of the season as they comfortably saw off Leeds in Round 1. They will face a buoyant Hull KR side after their dramatic late win over Hull FC but could be in for a rude awakening with the Wolves a different proposition. They have been afforded two home games to begin their campaign and can fully capitalise with back-to-back wins with plenty more points expected from Warrington here.
