THE TEAM NEWS

CHITTAGONG VIKINGS

Coach: Nurul Abedin

Captain: Mushfiqur Rahim

  • The Vikings snapped their three-match losing run last time out by overcoming Dhaka Dynamites and that sealed their place in the final four and they will be keen now to win here and try and grab first or second place.

  • That victory over the Dynamites saw Cameron Delport finally produce a substantial innings with the bat and that will give him and the team a huge lift in confidence going into the business end of the season as the batting has been light while he has been out of form.

  • They have continued to struggle without key all-rounder Robbie Frylinck who has had injury problems and that has disrupted the balance of the team so if he misses out again, they will miss him badly.

SYLHET SIXERS

Coach: Waqar Younis

Captain: Alok Kapali

  • Sylhet Sixers fell out of play-off contention on Tuesday after being beaten by Rajshahi Kings as they came up against an inspired Laurie Evans and Ryan ten Doeschate who helped them chase down the Sixers' 189/5 with two overs to spare.

  • Despite elimination last time out, they are not expected to make many changes and they will play for pride as they aim to finish this tournament with a victory against the Vikings who have already qualified for the knockouts and may also be relaxed themselves.

  • Their batting has been superb with Sabbir Rahman, Jason Roy, Nicholas Pooran and Liton Das all in good form so they will be confident of racking up a big total or chasing down whatever the Vikings post.

THE PREDICTION

Neither of these teams have anything to really play for now as the Vikings are in the final four and the Sixers have been eliminated which makes this game particularly difficult to predict. The Sixers were in good form prior to defeat last time out which knocked them out of contention, and their batting can produce fireworks at any time to take the game away from their opponents. The Vikings put in a much-improved display last time out but have not been convincing. If they are not fully focused they could be blown away by the Sixers, but so much depends on the motivation of both teams here.
