  • A strong second half showing gave Wigan the win in their opening game of the season against Salford Red Devils last week. With the game in the balance at half-time, Wigan scored 30 points to run out 12-40 winners.
  • Shaun Wane is able to recall influential skipper Sean O’Loughlin as well as Joe Burgess with both recovering from knocks. John Bateman is still out and Frank-Paul Nuuausala will also miss out through injury despite being named in the 19-man squad.
  • Wigan won the last meeting between the two sides in a controversial encounter. Hull were reduced to 12-men early on but Wigan needed two late tries to seal the win.

HULL FC

  • Hull got their season off to a solid start with a win over Huddersfield Giants last week. Hull were 10-12 down at half-time but scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to claim a comfortable victory.
  • Lee Radford is able to recall Liam Watts after the prop recovered from a hamstring injury with Brad Fash making way. Masi Matongo will also drop out of the 19 with the youngster picking up a foot infection.
  • Hull’s last win over Wigan came in the Challenge Cup final in August with the Black and Whites claiming the trophy with an 18 points to 14 victory.
