THE STATISTICS

THE LOWDOWN

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS

Head Coach: Rick Stone

Squad: Brough, Clough, Dickinson, Ferguson, Gaskell, Hinchcliffe, Ikahihifo, Leeming, Mamo, McGillvary, McIntosh, Mellor, Murphy, O’Brien, Rankin, Roberts, Ta’ai, Turner, Wood

Unavailable: Leroy Cudjoe, Shannon Wakeman, Adam Walne, Daniel Smith, Tom Symonds, Michael Lawrence

  • Huddersfield got back to winning ways with an away win at Widnes last week as the Giants claimed a 16-28 victory.
  • Head coach Rick Stone has made just the single change to his 19-man squad with Jordan Turner returning from a foot injury. Michael Lawrence in the man to make way.
  • Despite last week’s win, Huddersfield have lost seven of their last nine Super League fixtures and most seek more consistency in their performances if they are to avoid missing out on the play-offs come Round 23.

HULL KR

Head Coach: Tim Sheens

Squad: Atkin, Blair, Carney, Clarkson, Donaldson, Greenwood, Heffernan, Kavanagh, Lawler, Lee, Masoe, McGuire, Minns, Mulhern, Quinlan, Salter, Scruton, Shaw, Walne

Unavailable: Danny Addy, Josh Johnson, Matty Marsh, Lee Jewitt, Shaun Lunt, Danny Tickle

  • In their bottom of the table clash, Hull KR fell to a disappointing defeat away at Catalans Dragons last week with the French side claiming their first win of the season as Rovers went down 18-16.
  • Rovers will again be without captain Shaun Lunt after he was ruled out for an extended period with a lacerated knee. Danny Tickle will also sit out this week to work on his fitness. James Donaldson and George Lawler take their place in the 19-man squad.
  • Having won just one of their opening five games on their return to Super League, Hull KR’s main issues seem to stem from their attack. They have only scored an average of 13.6 points per game, the second lowest in the league.

THE PREDICTION

Huddersfield and Hull KR get Round 7 of Super League underway in a big game for both teams. Huddersfield won just their second Super League game in nine matches with a win over Widnes last week and will be looking to kick on. Hull KR on the other hand will need to bounce back having produced a poor performance in France as they went down to Catalans. The home side will be buoyed by their win last week and should go back-to-back here.
