Castleford claimed a win against Huddersfield last week but almost threw away a huge half-time lead. Going into the break with a 22-point advantage, the Tigers allowed Huddersfield to score that many points in the second half but two tries in the final ten minutes were the difference as they won 28-40.
Greg Eden picked up another hamstring injury last week and will return to the sidelines. Junior Moors is also out with a concussion so James Clare and Matt Cook come back into the 19-man squad.
Castleford were able to score 40 points in the absence of Luke Gale but he has been named in the 19-man squad again this week and should feature to boost the Tigers’ attack that is averaging just 18.9 points per game this season.
Unavailable: Luke Walsh, Vincent Duport, Greg Bird, Paul Aiton, Louis Anderson
A second half capitulation cost Catalans a valuable win as they threw away a 21-0 lead at home to Wigan last week. The Dragons allowed Wigan to score more than a point a minute as they conceded 32 points in a 30 minute spell to lose 23-32.
Lucas Albert has recovered from a knock so comes back into the 19-man squad with Alrix Da Costa and Lewis Tierney with Greg Bird, Paul Aiton and Louis Anderson all dropping out.
The French outfit desperately need a win with them still propping up the table. Their attack was much improved last week but still needs further tweaking as they have scored the fewest points in the league this season with an average of just 14.2 points per game.
Catalans allowed Wigan to come back from 21 points behind last week as they suffered yet another defeat and now travel to Castleford. The Tigers almost threw away a lead of their own last week but held on to see off Huddersfield. The damage from the Wigan loss may be difficult to overcome for the Dragons and despite their improvement in attack, they still suffered from similar disciplinary flaws that have been evident all season. Castleford haven’t hit the heights of last season’s sublime attacking displays but will fancy their chances of posting a big score here.
