THE STATISTICS

THE LOWDOWN

DRAGONS

Head Coach: Paul McGregor

Starting 13: Dufty, Macdonald, Aitken, Lafai, Nightingale, Widdop, Hunt, Graham, McInnes, Vaughan, Frizell, Sims, De Belin – Interchanges: Latimore, Mann, Ah Mau, Lawrie – Reserves: Robson, Lomax, Allgood, Sele

Unavailable:

  • St George lost just their second game of the season as they were beaten by South Sydney last week. The Dragons went behind in the first minute and were behind for the rest of the game with them eventually losing 24-10.

  • Zac Lomax drops out after making his debut last week with Blake Lawrie taking his place on the bench.

  • St George didn’t register a point until the 67th minute last week with them struggling to break down a resolute South Sydney defence. The Dragons were architects of their own downfall with them only completing 27 of 41 sets (66%).

RAIDERS

Head Coach: Ricky Stuart

Starting 13: Wighton, Cotric, Croker, Leilua, Rapana, Austin, Sezer, Soliola, Havili, Boyd, Tapine, Whitehead, Papalii – Interchanges: Hingano, Bateman, Gubb, Lui – Reserves: Knight, Oldfield, Williams, Garvey

Unavailable: Josh Hodgson, Junior Paulo

  • Canberra produced a poor second half display as they squandered a half-time lead in a defeat to Cronulla last week. The Raiders were eight points to the good but were kept scoreless in the second half as the Sharks claimed a 16-24 win.

  • Sam Williams has recovered from injury and could be a late addition to the side if Blake Austin is deemed unavailable with an ankle knock.

  • Despite their 4-6 record, Canberra have a positive points difference of 7 points. That is better than any side in the bottom half of the table as well as Cronulla in eighth place.

THE PREDICTION

St George produced one of their worst displays of the season as they lost just their second game of the year. They completed at just 66% which is well below the standards they have set this season. Canberra looked set for their third win in a row but a scoreless second half against Cronulla saw them fall to defeat. The Raiders have won just one game on their travels so far this season and with the Dragons boasting an unbeaten record in their home games this season, it is likely to be another fruitless trip on the road for Canberra as St George get back to winning ways.
