THE LOWDOWN

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Head Coach: Anthony Lynn

W/L: 7-2

  • The Chargers seem to have gone under the radar this season but find themselves at 7-2 after beating the Raiders.

  • Despite not being at their fluent best on offense, they still managed a comfortable win as their defense kept Oakland out of the endzone.

  • The Chargers’ impressive season is still not enough to top the AFC West with them sitting two games behind the Chiefs (9-1) but do currently occupy the first wildcard spot.

DENVER BRONCOS

Head Coach: Vance Joseph

W/L: 3-6

  • Denver lost yet another close game as their poor run of form continued after they were defeated 17-19 by the Texans in their last match.

  • The Broncos have now won just one game from their last seven, going 1-6 having started the season 2-0.

  • RB Devontae Booker’s fumble in the 2nd quarter against the Texans meant that the Broncos have allowed a turnover of possession in 12 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL.

THE PREDICTION

Although the Chargers have lost 11 of the last 14 contests against the Broncos, this is a prime opportunity for them to improve that record. They face a side that have only won one game from seven whilst the Chargers have won six in a row. With the Chargers likely to need to qualify for the post-season via the wildcard spots, another win here will keep them right in the mix.
