2017-18 Streaks In English Football

Here we have compiled a list of active streaks in the top seven tiers of English football, from the Premier League all the way down to the Isthmian League. All streaks listed here do not carry over from last season and begun when the 2017-18 season commenced in each division

The last four unbeaten teams in the top 10 English leagues are Manchester United, Manchester City, Shrewsbury Town and Leiston (Isthmian League).

There are still eight teams yet to taste victory this season; Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers, Torquay United, Dunstable Town, Gosport Borough, Tooting & Mitcham, Whitehawk and Worthing. 

Crystal Palace is the only side yet to find the net this season. They are also the only team to not score at home.

Crystal Palace and Arsenal are the only two teams yet to find the net away from home. 

Manchester United and Hendon of the Isthmian League are the only two teams yet to concede at home this season. 

Swansea City and Southampton are the only two teams yet to concede away from home this season.

Crystal Palace are the ONLY team to have lost every game this season in the top seven tiers of English football. However, if we include the top divisions in Spain, Germany, Italy and France we find that Spanish side Alavés and Italian outfit Benevento have also lost every game so far. 

Despite having lost every game this season, Crystal Palace are not on the longest losing streak of any team. That record belongs to Bolton Wanderers who have lost their last seven league games.

A total of 3371 goals have already been scored this season in the top seven tiers of English football.

The Southern Premier League see the most goals per game with an average of 1.71 scored each match.

On average across all leagues, home sides are winning 1.58 : 1.27

The top scorers across all leagues are Harrogate Town who has found the net 35 times in 12 games.

The most prolific side in England is Manchester City, who average 3.50 goals per game. Only Napoli average more goals per game in Europe’s top five leagues with 3.67 goals per game.

If you want to see goals then head to Southern Premier League side Banbury United. Matches with Banbury United average 4.67 goals per game, more than any one else in the top seven tiers. In fact, more goals per game are seen in league matches with Banbury then any other team in the top five leagues in Europe. 

The following teams still boast 100% home records - Manchester United, Arsenal, Tiverton (Southern Premier League), Kettering (Southern Premier League) and Hendon (Isthmian League).

The following teams still Boast 100% away records - Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham, Watford and Billericay Town (Isthmian League).
