All-time meetings: Adelaide Strikers W3, Brisbane Heat W3
Coach: Jason Gillespie
Captain: Travis Head
The Strikers have a quick turnaround in matches having only played on Thursday but they are thriving and confident right now having won their opening two matches against the two Sydney outfits.
Alex Carey has been the star with the bat so far while their bowling attack is looking strong with wicket takers in Laughlin and Rashid Khan combined with Peter Siddle's economical bowling so the team overall is very well balanced.
The Strikers have named an unchanged 13-man squad and they will in all likelihood name the same eleven given the tremendous form they have shown in the opening two matches but this does promise to be a tougher test than both of those matches.
Coach: Daniel Vettori
Captain: Brendon McCullum
The Heat have started BBL07 relatively well with two wins from their opening three games and they will be highly motivated against the Strikers who are expected to be competing with them later in the tournament for honours.
They welcomed back Chris Lynn against the Sydney Thunder and Lynnsanity returned as he smashed 25 runs off just 9 balls and their batting line-up is arguably the most potent in BBL07 right now.
Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah comes into the line-up for the Heat in place of his national team colleague Shadab Khan and they will look for him to have an immediate impact for the team.
This match is an authentic shootout between two of the best and biggest hitting batting line-ups in the Big Bash. The Strikers have the edge in the bowling department with Peter Siddle in great form and Rashid Khan and Ben Laughlin taking the wickets so that could be the fine margin that makes the difference here. That said, the Heat’s batting firepower can take the game away from any team and this match is genuinely a 50/50 affair with TSZ marginally edging the Strikers’ bowling as the differentiating factor.
